Rifle Ace Benjamin Takes Aim at NCAA's

AKRON, Ohio - UA sophomore gunner Sarah Benjamin travels to Fort Worth, Texas tomorrow to compete in the National Championships in Akron's quest for its second consecutive individual championship hosted by Texas Christian University.

Benjamin became the second consecutive Zip to earn a ticket to the NCAA's after Jenna Compton managed to do so last season before winning the individual air rifle title. Benjamin is currently the 11th best air rifle and 23rd best smallbore shooter on the collegiate circuit and fired 590 at the NCAA Qualifier to tie a school record and earn the right to qualify for the championship as an alternate.

A variety of options will be available for following Sarah's every shot at tomorrow's event, including streaming video. Benjamin will be shooting from firing point 19 beginning tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST (9 a.m. CST). The finals are slated to start at 3 p.m. EST (2 p.m. CST).
