as a Freshman (2006): Played in 23 games ... made college debut and recorded her first kill at West Virginia (Aug. 26) ... notched two kills at Bowling Green (Oct. 6) ... totaled seven kills on the season to go along with a pair of assists and digs ... also registered five blocks (two solo). at Hilliard Davidson High School: Earned seven varsity letters as a two-sport athlete (three for track and four for volleyball) ... overall high school team record was 40-3 in the Ohio Capital Conference ... squad was district champions in 2004 and district runners-up in 2002, 2003 and 2005 ... tabbed honorable mention for All-OCC as a sophomore and then named a first-team All-District OCC Scholar Athlete ... graduated No. 58 out of her senior class of 459 students as a 4.0 student. Personal: Daughter of Edward and Fidelia Fekpe ... father is a transportation engineer and mother is a hair dresser ... has an older brother, Edem ... very active in youth services as a member of youth-to-youth, Young Life and as a Joy Camp counselor ... born in Accra, Ghana ... has also lived in Winnipeg and Ottawa, Canada ... a talented artist, her self-portrait was accepted into the Scholastics and Governor’s Art Show in 2006 ... majoring in sport management. |
