Hitchens is one of 11 players to earn honorable mention recognition and is one of four MAC players to be named to the overall team. Ball State's Jarrod Jones, Buffalo's Rodney Pierce and Western Michigan's David Kool were named to the 25-person main team.

Rather than assembling first-, second-, third- and fourth-team squads, the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major All-America Team is one group consisting of 25 players and honorable mention picks. Division I coaches and NBA scouts are part of the selection process, but final decision rests with the CollegeInsider.com staff.
