Quoting Akron Head Coach Keith Dambrot

Opening Statement:
"First off, when you're up 15 points with 7:36 to play, you should win the game. We can say whatever, we can blame the players or me but I thought today we did a very poor job of handling prosperity first and adversity second."

On lessons from today's loss:
"It comes down to developing a willingness to win. We have to have a better sense of willingness to win, handle adversity and prosperity."

On cementing the starting lineup:
"I asked every coach the same question and none of us had the final answer. I know Zeke (Marshall) has to play, even if he's not great, he needs to play if we're going to take the next step. He's going to do some good things."

On addressing the team during postgame:
"I didn't yell at them, I just basically told them we need to play better. We can't go 0-for-4 at the line at the end of games, we can't give up 3s late in the clock or layups late in the clock. We had nobody that made a play when it mattered. Not one play that mattered in the last five minutes of the game and we had the ball right in front of the rim."

Quoting Austin Peay Head Coach Dave Loos

Opening Statement:
"Even though it's very early in the season, this is very significant for us. I've got a lot of respect for Keith (Dambrot) and this program and to get a win here is pretty big for us. I think it's going to turn out to be real big for us, because I think Akron's going to win a lot of games and can very likely be a tournament team. I know they haven't lost much in this building, so we're very proud of this win and especially proud of the way that our guys got down and fought back."

On having a game under their belt after playing at Tennessee on Friday night:
"I believe the extra game worked in our favor. We played a very good Tennessee team on Friday night and we were down six at the half, then they turned us every way but loose in the second half. But I think it probably did help to have played a game. I told our players when we left there that I don't know what they were thinking, but from having seen Akron and played them before, that this team might not be as long or quite as athletic as Tennessee but that they would be pretty close and pretty good which they are. This game is funny because once that momentum changes it's hard to turn things around and Akron almost had us buried."

On the key to the comeback:
"I think I was pleased with our defense. It's probably the first time since Oct. 15 that we really got after it and played pretty well defensively. Even so Anthony Campbell, who played at the four spot, did not have a shot attempt at the half and finished in double figures. And Duran Roberson, he had a great second half, which came out of nowhere."
