Quoting Akron Head Coach Keith Dambrot
Opening Statement: "I just though that we did not have things go our way tonight. We just didn't shoot the ball very well. We did early and then we kind of lost it. We just couldn't catch any breaks. It was tough." On what he'll remember most about senior forward Jimmy Conyers: "You can say whatever you want about Jimmy Conyers. His career has been up and down. What does this season say about the guy? Every ball that went up, he treated like it was the last ball he was ever going to see again or like it his last meal. He tried to will us to win." On what he'll remember most about senior forward Chris McKnight: "Chris had terrific tournament. Chris is one of those guys that no matter how bad you get on them, they never forget where they came from. They never forget the relationship. I consider them family. That [McKnight] is one of my favorite players of all time. He hasn't really got as much respect as he deserves. I am going to miss both of those guys [McKnight and Conyers] – they were a big part of our program."

On the state of the program as he departs: "Ever since I have been here, I've been to a MAC championship. Unfortunately in three out of four, we came up short. It's the way that coach has built the program. He's brought in good guys, tough guys. He's built a good program and that's why I came here." On playing with his brother Brett for three years: "It's tough for it to end. I've been playing with him for over a decade. Now that it's coming to end, it's hard to believe. In his decision to come to Akron, I told him that if you can go somewhere better, do it because I want you to do better than me. When he decided to come here, it was another three years I had to play with him. It's been ever since we are little that we have played together and now that it is coming to an end, it is devastating."

On what making four-straight MAC Tournament championship games says about Akron: "Ever since Coach (Keith) Dambrot came along, he's built the program on defense and offense second. That's the way that you get to the championship. Somebody has got to give this guy [Dambrot] coach of the year sometime – that's what I tried to get him."
