It's your ticket inside training camp with the Zips as they prepare for the 2008 season. Andy Harris talks with head coach J.D. Brookhart, the assistant coaches and players about training camp and the start of the 2008 campaign. In this edition, coach Brookhart and senior linebacker Doug Williams discuss the first few days of training camp, the offseason individual workouts and the season opener.

Coach Fleming also reveals which is more stressful - teaching blitz schemes to his players or teaching his kids how to drive - and Brandon gives the inside scoop on his off-season change in jersey number.

If you've ever wondered what goes on behind the tall windows of the press box at the Rubber Bowl, this is your pass inside. Get your credentials ready as Josh Harris, a member of the stat crew who has seen nearly a decade of games at the Bowl, gives you an inside look. Along with Andy Harris, Josh takes you from the field, up many, many flights of stairs and inside the press box. Peek inside every room, from the visiting coaches' and athletic director's boxes to the sound room, game staff area, the one, extremely small restroom in the entire press box and even up onto the roof. Here's your chance to step into the life of a UA student-athlete for a day. Follow junior volleyball player Liz Martin through a day of life on the road in the MAC. Check in as Liz and her teammates share breakfast at the hotel, attend the daily scouting session, head to the arena for practice and more. Stop by the pre-game meal, get a front row seat for the evening's game against Western Michigan and hop on the bus as it heads on to Northern Illinois.


Road trippin' with the Zips Week of Oct. 12, 2008 | Watch here!
Follow along with the UA volleyball team throughout their entire road trip to Kalamazoo and DeKalb for two tough MAC contests. Board the bus with the Zips Thursday afternoon in Akron, travel north and enjoy dinner at the home of senior Brittany Fox, then move on to the team hotel in Kalamazoo. There, wake up and enjoy breakfast with the Zips before practice at the arena, the pre-game meal and the match with the Broncos before heading west to Illinois for a matchup with the Northern Illinois Huskies. Finally, hop back on the bus and make the long drive back to Akron, arriving at just after 6 a.m. Sunday morning, all in this edition of Akron Insider All Access.

Tag along with one of the best collegiate soccer players in the nation, Steve Zakuani, and walk a mile in his shoes as he goes to practice and class, hangs out with teammates and more. Begin the day with a tour of the apartment Steve shares just off campus with several of his teammates and find out what about his humble abode makes Steve say he's "not your average college student." Then, hoof it to campus along Spicer Street and step inside the men's soccer team's morning practice. Finish the day by sitting in Steve's classes, playing video games with Steve and teammate Michael Nanchoff and making a Chipotle run.

See how well volleyball teammates Liz Martin and Jackie Goleman know freshman Tina Dimitrijevs in this video feature. Watch as Liz and Jackie try to match Tina's answers for 10 questions about herself and her life. Enjoy a laugh as Liz and Jackie attempt to spell Dimitrijevs, guess what Tina's most prized possession is and figure out what her favorite genre of music is. Knowing your teammate well and what makes them tick is vital on the court, so see if these three UA volleyball teammates are as close as they seem.

It's time to hit the weight room with junior offensive lineman Zack Anderson of the UA football team in this edition of Akron Insider All Access. Pump some iron with Zack as he goes through one of his daily lifting sessions and see the inside of the Zips' state-of-the-art weight room. Hit the incline bench for the bench press, throw on a few hundred pounds for three sets of power clean lifts and strap on your weight belt for a tough hour-long workout. Zack narrates you through his workout schedule as given to him by UA strength and conditioning coaches and gives you an inside look at what it's like to be in the weight room with a couple dozen Division I football players.
