FirstEnergy Stadium - Cub Cadet Field
The soccer facility is just one part of the Lee Jackson Field Complex, a 23-acre multi-purpose facility serving the University of Akron's intercollegiate programs (soccer, outdoor track and field, softball, baseball and football) as well as the entire University community. Bordered by Exchange, Brown and Carroll Streets, Lee Jackson Field houses a running track, baseball diamond, softball venue. In the summer of 2004, a 120-by-65 yard synthetic turf field was added and serves as the main practice venue for the UA football squad. The complex also includes a 50-by-60 natural grass surface which provides additional practice space for the team, in addition to the men's and women's soccer programs. In 1988, the first phase of the soccer stadium was completed, which included a fence enclosure and the addition of lights, making it one of the first lit playing fields in the Mid-American Conference. In 1994, a fund-raising campaign netted more than $35,000 to upgrade the soccer facility. Landscaping and the installation of a drainage system for the playing surface continue to make the complex one of the finest in the midwest. In October of 2000, a new scoreboard was added, a gift from
Caroline Pardee. Pardee was an alumnus, benefactor and long-time
supporter of the University's academic community and athletics
department. In the summer of 2005 new bleachers were added to the
south end of the facility. Soccer, Track and Field, Baseball and Softball FROM THE SOUTH - Take Interstate 77 North, follow signs for Route 8 North.
