AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's and women's basketball teams visited with members of the media on Wednesday to preview the upcoming season in Tommy Evans Lounge at Rhodes Arena.

The event, covered live online via MAC-Sports.com, featured Head Coach Jodi Kest and Head Coach Keith Dambrot, as well as student-athletes Rachel Tecca, Jasmine Mushington and Natasha Williams from the women's squad and Nikola Cvetinovic, Brett McClanahan and Zeke Marshall from the men's team.

The live event featured comments and questions from the media, from members of the Z-Fund and from Zips fans watching online. Additionally, fans were able to take part in a live chat during the event through Cover It Live as well as through The University of Akron Athletics Department Twitter account, FollowtheRoo.

Highlights of the day included Coach Kest and her student-athletes talking about the team's depth (Akron returns ten letterwinners and four starters) and how the players have bought into the philosophies of the program.

On the men's side, Coach Dambrot and the men's players discussed the process of reloading and defending their 2011 Mid-American Conference championship and the hardships of maintaining the high level of success expected of the Zips.

The men's program opens its season on Thursday, Nov. 3, when it plays host to John Carroll in the squad's only exhibition game at Rhodes Arena at 7 p.m. ET. The Zips then travel to Starkville, Miss., to face Mississippi State on ESPNU on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The women's program will play host to Ohio Dominican in its only exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 5, at noon, before traveling to South Bend, Ind., to face Notre Dame in the Preseason WNIT on Friday, Nov. 11.

Media coverage generated at media day will be available in the coming days.
