Akron Basketball Plays Host to Doubleheader on Saturday

AKRON, Ohio – Akron basketball will play host to a doubleheader this Saturday at Rhodes Arena as the women's basketball team will play host to Kent State and the men's basketball team will face Ohio.

The women's squad (7-10, 1-2 MAC) will play host to the rival Golden Flashes (2-11, 1-2 MAC) beginning at 1 p.m. as part of the PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge.

The men's team (10-6, 2-0 MAC) will take on the Bobcats (13-3, 1-1 MAC) at 4 p.m. as part of the Mid-American Conference's national January basketball television package on ESPNU. The contest will be the second game for Akron on the ESPN family of networks as the Zips defeated Mississippi State 68-58 on Nov. 9, also on ESPNU.

Tickets for both games are now on sale. General admission tickets for both contests can be purchased for $10 for adults and $7 for youth (ages 3-14). Tickets previously purchased for either game will also be honored. Fans attending the women's game may sit anywhere in the arena.

During the intermission between games, fans with general admission tickets will be asked to move into the general admission seating areas to allow for reserved ticket patrons to gain access to their seats.

Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets).
