An individual who posts at least a 3.25 grade-point average for the fall and/or spring semester earns a spot on the Dean's List.
Additionally, UA was the winner of the 2010-11 Mid-American Conference Institutional Academic Achievement Award. For the previous academic year, Akron posted an overall athletic grade-point average of 3.14 based on 417 student-athletes in 18 sports.
The award is presented annually to the MAC school that achieves the highest overall institutional GPA for student-athletes competing in university-sponsored sports for the academic year.
Akron topped Toledo by the slimmest of margins, bettering the Rockets by .01 points (3.13 GPA, 358 student-athletes). The award is the first for the Zips since the MAC began handing out the award following the 1994-95 academic year.
