AKRON, Ohio – The men's and women's basketball team lounges are beginning to look like the final product as crews inside James A. Rhodes Arena have added paint to most of the walls and ceilings at the close of the fifth week of the project.

Cabinets and a trophy case have been set up inside the men's basketball team lounge, along with the application the first coat of paint on the walls and ceiling. The walls and ceiling inside the women's team lounge are mostly painted as crews continue to make progress on the two rooms.

Once finished, the crews will move on to the 1,650-square-foot strength-training room, which has been prepped for final construction.

The two team lounges will be symmetrical and feature state-of the-art technology, including multi-screen audio/visual equipment for practice and game video analysis, and opponent scouting. The video systems, designed specifically to meet the needs of the Akron basketball programs, will be synchronized with equipment located in the existing coaching staffs' offices to maximize efficiency in video study and game preparation.

The project is scheduled to conclude in late-July.
