Zips Live Returns to Winking Lizard on Monday

AKRON, Ohio – Zips Live, the weekly hour-long radio program covering University of Akron Athletics, returns to the airwaves on Monday from 7-8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast from the Winking Lizard Tavern in nearby Fairlawn (25 Ghent Road).
Due to Akron Aeros baseball, this week's show will air taped delay following that contest and will also be replayed at 10 a.m. on Saturday prior to the football Ohio State pre-game show, which begins at 11 a.m.
Bill Morgan returns as host of the show, which airs locally on Akron IMG Sports Network flagship SportsRadio 1350 AM (WARF). The show can also be heard via webstream on the WARF homepage (click on the Listen Live tab in the top left corner).
Joining Morgan on the season's first edition will be head men's soccer coach Caleb Porter and head football coach Rob Ianello. Ianello will be on each week throughout the season during the final 30 minutes of the show.
Porter's team, the defending national champion, posted a 5-0 win over Cleveland State on Saturday night in the season opener at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field. The Zips will next head to Northridge, Calif., for the Cal State Northridge Labor Day Classic. UA will play Cal State Fullerton on Thursday and the host Matadors on Saturday.
Ianello begins his second season at Akron by taking his squad to top-25 ranked Ohio State on Saturday for the season opener. The Zips and Buckeyes face off at noon ET on ESPN. That game will also air on the Akron IMG Sports Network and SportsRadio 1350 AM (WARF).
