LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Akron (0-4) baseball team lost to the University of Louisville (3-1) on Friday afternoon by a score of 7-0 in Jim Patterson Stadium.

Sophomore Jon Pusateri started for the Zips in the opening game of the three game series. Pusateri went 5.1 innings with five earned runs allowed and one strikeout. His record dropped to 0-2 in the afternoon loss.

The Zips' bullpen performed well again following a strong Georgia Tech series. Daulton Mosbarger and Andrew Fanning combined to pitch 2.2 innings with one earned run allowed on three hits. Mosbarger's outing was the first of his collegiate career.

Akron had difficulty on the offensive side of the ball on Friday. Louisville Starter Chad Green stymied the UA offense over 7.0 innings with three strikeouts and one hit allowed.

Catcher Brady Stewart broke Green's no-hitter in the seventh inning with a single down the right field line. That single was Stewart's sixth hit in four games.

Joey Havrilak and Devan Ahart also recorded hits in the 7-0 loss. Akron finished with three total hits for the afternoon.

Akron and Louisville will matchup again on Saturday afternoon in Patterson Stadium with a 2 p.m., first pitch. Live stats, video and audio links for Saturday's game can be found on the Akron baseball schedule page
