AKRON, Ohio - Akron Sports Network from IMG College flagship SportsRadio 1350 AM (WARF) will broadcast its Ken Carmen Show live from Stile Athletics Field House on Wednesday from 3-6 p.m. ET as part of the first day of spring football practice for the Zips. Today's workout is open to the public and is scheduled to run from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and due to today's inclement weather will be held inside the field house.
Fans can access that venue via the entrance on South Union Street (across from the Lee R. Jackson Softball Field) and parking in the lots surrounding InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field and Stile Athletics Field House will be free during the afternoon hours today.
Second-year UA football head coach Rob Ianello will visit with show host Ken Carmen during the first 20 minutes of the broadcast and will join the show after 5:30 p.m. to recap the first of 14 practice sessions leading up to the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field. Throughout the afternoon, a variety of UA coaches and administrators will also participate in the broadcast.
Six Saturday home games, including a Senior Day showdown against neighborhood rival Kent State, highlight Akron's 2011 schedule, which Ianello announced last month. After starting the season on Sept. 3 at reigning Big Ten champion and Allstate Sugar Bowl winner Ohio State, the Zips' open their home schedule on Sept. 10 against Mid-American Conference opponent Temple.
Akron's home MAC schedule also consists of contests against Ohio on Oct. 22, Central Michigan on Oct. 29 and the annual Wagon Wheel contest versus Kent State on Nov. 12. The Zips also have a home nonconference meeting with Virginia Military Institute on Sept. 24 and Florida International on Oct. 8 for Homecoming. UA competes at BCS foe Cincinnati on Sept. 17.

Priority reserved and premium seat ticket holders, who already receive complimentary parking, will receive four vouchers redeemable for tickets to any regular-season home Zips Athletics event during the 2011-12 academic year, if they renew by the June 3 deadline.
All fans who renew their season tickets prior to June 3 will be entered in a drawing to win a variety of great prizes. Renewing earlier provides more chances to win, as prizes are awarded each month leading up to the deadline.
