AKRON, Ohio
– Since the introduction of Terry Bowden as head coach of The University of Akron football team in December the word "dadgum" has been added to the vernacular of Zips fans.

An adjective used to express annoyance, the word has been made famous by Terry's father, Bobby, the legendary former head coach at Florida State. The UA faithful have merged that word with the slogan "Fear the Roo" that they have been using since the Zips football team's MAC championship season in 2005.

T-shirts featuring the mantra "Fear the Dadgum! Roo" became available for purchase earlier this week in the Zips Team Shop at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field and in the University Bookstore in the Student Union. It can also be purchased through the online Team Shop.
