Youth Clinic to be Part of Football Spring Game Festivities on April 27

AKRON, Ohio – As part of the festivities surrounding The University of Akron football team's annual Spring Game at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field on Saturday, April 27, the program will hold its fourth-annual Youth Clinic for children ranging from kindergarten through sixth grade.

Led by second-year Zips head coach Terry Bowden, his coaching staff and student-athletes, the clinic costs $15 and is scheduled to run from 11-11:50 a.m., inside Stile Athletics Field House.

Space is limited and those interested are asked to pre-register online or by calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766). Participants can check-in and do on-site registration from 10:15-10:45 a.m. The cost of the clinic includes one voucher redeemable for one ticket to a 2013 Akron football home game of choice, excluding the PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge contest versus Kent State on Nov. 2.

All participants need to have a parent or guardian complete a mandatory waiver form before being allowed to participate in the clinic.

Following the clinic, fans will be able to enjoy Zips Fest (located next to the stadium on Vine Street) at noon, leading up to kickoff of the Spring Game at 1 p.m. at InfoCision Stadium.

The UA football squad begins spring camp on April 2 and opens the regular season on Thursday, Aug. 29 at UCF. The team's home opener is on Saturday, Sept. 7 against James Madison.
