AKRON, Ohio — Former Zips' wide receiver Jerome Lane (Akron, Ohio) will be one of 300 participants at the 2017 NFL Combine on March 3-6 in Indianapolis.
The NFL Network will provide live coverage each day, beginning at 9 a.m.
Lane, who completed his junior season in 2016, decided to forego his final year of eligibility in order to enter the NFL Draft. The third-team All-MAC honoree was one of just seven Zips to start all 12 games in 2016. Lane was Akron's leading receiver with 1,018 yards and six touchdowns on 62 receptions. He had five 100-yard receiving performances in his collegiate career, including four last season. Lane played linebacker as a freshman (2014) and transitioned into a receiver in 2015.
Lane is the first Akron Zip to participate in the NFL Combine since 2007 when QB Luke Getsy and OG Andy Alleman competed.
Akron football opens the 2017 season at Penn State on Sept. 2. The home opener is slated for Sept. 9 against Arkansas Pine Bluff.
Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all six home games as well as a parking pass—start at only $60 each.
