Zips' 2016 Intro Video  |  Behind the Scenes

AKRON, Ohio – Pritt Entertainment Group (PEG) won a Gold ADDY at the 2017 Akron-Canton ADDY Awards for video editing of the 2016 Akron Zips' football intro video.

The 80-second video was played prior to every home game last fall at InfoCision Stadium– Summa Field, ushering the Zips onto the field in style and pumping up the crowd before kickoff.

"We take a lot of pride in our relationship with the Pritt Entertainment Group (PEG)," said Matt Newhouse, associate athletics director for marketing and promotions. "Not only are they based in downtown Akron, but both co-founders graduated from UA. It makes our community stronger by investing in Akron. We take pride in our city and pride in those who take pride in our city. This is an incredible honor, and a lot of people from our athletics staff and the PEG team worked really hard to bring the initial concept to fruition. It's exciting to see our football intro video recognized on a regional and national level."

Overall, PEG took home four ADDY awards from the American Advertising Federation, including two gold awards. PEG's other gold award came in the cinematography category for their tipoff video for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"It's really special to get a Gold ADDY Award for a project like this. Not only are you going up against other videos created for college and professional sports teams, but also everything from major TV commercials to high-end corporate videos. It's a great honor for everyone involved," said president and co-founder Ryan Pritt. "Intro videos are always fun, because they're based around getting an emotional reaction. You want the players to be pumped up when they take the field, the fans to be on the edge of their seat or standing, and you can watch those reactions happen instantly when it runs."
