AKRON, Ohio — Zips' Football, under the guidance of sixth-year head coach Terry Bowden, will hold its annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 22, at Noon at InfoCision Stadium– Summa Field. Admission to the game and parking are FREE.

Additionally, softball will host rival Kent State in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Lee R. Jackson Field as a part of the Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge.

The festivities kick off with a FREE Youth Clinic (for kids in Grades K to 8) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Louis and Freda Stile Athletics Field House. Please enter through the Football Helmet on Vine Street. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. To register, click HERE. Deadline to register is Thursday, April 20. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. Youngsters will run drills with Zips student-athletes and get to meet Coach Bowden. For more information, please call Evan Brown at (330) 972-2428.

Inflatables will be up and running in the Field House when the clinic starts at 10 a.m. for children not participating.

Zips Fest, including inflatables and activities for the kids, will open in the Field House at 11 a.m. Please enter through the Football Helmet on Vine Street.

The stadium gates open at 11 a.m. with kickoff slated for Noon between the Blue and the White squads. Team rosters will be announced next week.

Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to purchase authentic Zips' gear during a Surplus Sale on the main concourse. Available for purchase are: old game jerseys (including football), t-shirts, polo shirts, jackets, winter jackets, pants, shoes, football cleats, track spike, and more.

Following the game, winners of the team's spring practice awards will be announced before the entire team participates in an autograph session with fans on Vine Street.

Akron returns 57 letterwinners, including 15 starters, to its spread offense and 4-3 defense. The Zips, which finished the 2016 season at 5-7 overall, open the 2017 season at Penn State on Sept. 2. The home opener is slated for Sept. 9 with Arkansas Pine Bluff.

Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all six home games as well as a parking pass—start at only $60 each. Renewals (for current season ticket holders) and new seats are now available for purchase by calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting The C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets) during business hours (Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

The season ticket renewal deadline in June 15. Payment plans are available.

Group tickets start at $10 each (with a minimum of 15 people).
