AKRON, Ohio – When the Akron Zips took the court on Thursday night in an exhibition contest against John Carroll at Rhodes Arena, there was something different about the squad in addition to the new additions to the roster.
This season, the Zips will sport three new uniforms and a new set of warm-ups, all branded with the Akron Basketball and Nike trademarks.
When playing in the friendly confines of Rhodes Arena, Akron will sport new white uniforms with silver trim and silver lettering with blue trim. The white shorts sport the Akron "Z" on the leg. In previous seasons, all Akron jerseys carried the Akron name on the front. This season, the home unis will have "Zips" above the numbers.
During road games, the Zips will continue to wear their traditional blue uniforms, but with some new updates. The new uniforms have white trim, white lettering with silver trim and a large "A" on the shorts.
New this year will be an alternate uniform. This silver uniform will features white trim, white lettering with blue trim and a stacked "UA" on the shorts. The alternate uniform is the first for the Zips since the gold uniforms during the 2007-08 season.
The Zips also have a new look during pregame, sporting blue and white warm-ups with the same stacked "UA" that appears on the silver uniforms.

Starkville, Miss., to face Mississippi State as part of the 2K
Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. Tip-off is set for 7
p.m. ET and the game can be seen live on ESPNU.
