Former Zip Nikola Cvetinovic Signs with AEK Larnaca in Cyprus

AKRON, Ohio – Former University of Akron forward Nikola Cvetinovic signed a contract to play basketball for AEK Larnaca, a member of the Cypriot 1st Division, Cypriot Cup, the club announced on Wednesday.

Cvetinovic finished his Akron career tied for 25th on the Zips' all-time scoring list (1,158) and tied former Zip and teammate Steve McNees for the top mark in program history for games played (141).

In his four season in the Blue and Gold, Cvetinovic earned Mid-American Conference honors in 2011 (second team) and 2012 (third team) while leading UA to 92 wins, tied for fourth-most of any senior class. He helped Akron to MAC Tournament titles in 2009 and 2011, the school's first MAC Regular season title in 2012, two trips to the NCAA Tournament (2009, 2011), a spot in the 2012 NIT and an apperance in the 2010 CBI.

AEK Larnaca, located in Larnaca, Cyprus, finished fourth last season in league play, posting a 9-7 mark.
