KANSAS CITY, Mo. - University of Akron men's soccer junior Adam Najem (Clifton, N.J.) and sophomore Richie Laryea (Toronto, Ontario (Canada)) garnered All-America accolades when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) unveiled its 2015 All-American teams on Friday, Dec. 11.

Both Zips earned All-America status for the first time in their respective Akron careers as Najem and Laryea were tabbed as second- and third-team honorees.

The NSCAA All-America citations are the 54th and 55th in the Zips' storied men's soccer history.

Najem has started all 23 games for Akron this season registering team-high marks in assists (11), points (31), shots (68), shots on goal (31) and game-winner (4), while ranking second in goals (10).

Laryea has also started each of the Zips' 23 contests this fall owning a team-best 11 goals, while rating second on assists (7), points (29), shots (58), shots on goal (26) and game-winners (3).

Since the start of postseason play versus West Virginia on Nov. 13, Najem has been clutch for the Zips' efforts collecting two goals and adding four assists on 21 shots to spark Akron to a 5-0-0 record, while Laryea has contributed a pair of goals and two assists on 15 shots.

The Zips (18-3-2) return to action squaring off against Stanford (17-2-2) in the second semifinal of the NCAA College Cup at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday, Dec. 11. Game time is set for approximately 8:36 p.m. ET or 45 minutes after the conclusion of the other national semifinal pitting Clemson against Syracuse.
