ALLIANCE, Ohio – Redshirt sophomore Elizabeth Mosier (Austintown, Ohio) turned in a stellar performance in the women's 5,000 meters to led the efforts of the University of Akron women's track and field team at the Mount Union Homon Invitational on Saturday, April 8.
Mosier established a career-best time of 18:06.39 en route to garnering a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters, while sophomore Morgan Buckley (Warren, Ohio) posted a time of 18:53.82 to earn a seventh-place showing.
Freshman Haley Hess (Curtice, Ohio) was the Zips' top finisher in the 1,500 meters crossing the line in 4:48.24.
In the 800 meters, Hess and sophomore Tarike Osuobeni (Columbus, Ohio) placed sixth and eighth, respectively, with times of 2:18.94 and 2:19.42.
The Zips return to competition next weekend as Akron hosts the Northeast Ohio Quad at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15.
