May 26, 2011 | Women's Basketball Women’s Basketball to Participate in 2011 Preseason WNIT AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's basketball program has been selected to participate in the 2011 Preseason WNIT, as announced on Thursday morning. The tournament features a 16-team field highlighted by three top-10 teams from last season in Baylor, Notre Dame, and UCLA. The remaining teams are Chattanooga, Detroit, Drexel, ETSU, Hartford, Howard, Indiana State, Long Island, Manhattan, McNeese State, Tennessee Tech, and UAB.
