Berestetska Advances to Flight C Singles Finale at Spartan Invitational

Spartan Invitational – Day Two Results
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Ksenia Berestetska advanced to the finals of flight C singles to highlight the Zips women's tennis team's second day of competition at the 23rd-annual Spartan Invitational at Michigan State on Saturday.
After posting a three-set win in Friday's opening round, Berestetska won her quarterfinal and semifinal matches today in straight sets. She defeated Marquette's Ali Dawson 7-5, 6-4 in the quarters and Christine Guerrazzi from Miami (Ohio) 6-3, 6-4 in the semis. Berestetska will face off against Illinois-Chicago's Jana Knoppe in Sunday's title contest and defend the crown she claimed in this bracket this season.
In flight A singles, Prang Pantusart topped Michigan State's Catherine Parenteau 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals before falling 6-3, 6-1 to Purdue's Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum in the semifinal round.
In flight A doubles, Pantusart and Angelika Jogasuria built off their opening round victory on Friday with an 8-3 decision over Illinois-Chicago's Haley Craig and Natalia Kuvakina in today's quarterfinal, but then lost 8-2 in the semifinals to Bernard-Feigenbaum and Claudia Escribens from Purdue.
Competition concludes on Sunday.
