Also competing in the main draw for UA was Olga Shkundina, who lost 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 to Illinois State's Emmie Marx, and Prang Pantusart, who was defeated 6-3, 6-2 by Michigan State's Marina Bohrer.

In qualifying singles consolation play, Zip Ksenia Berestetska topped Wisconsin's Lauren Burich 6-2, 6-2.

In main draw doubles consolation competition, the UA pair of Angelika Jogasuria and Madison Cohen defeated IPFW's Miloslava Shustova and Theresa Neumeyr 8-6, then lost 8-5 to Illinois' Audrey O'Connor and Julia Jamieson.

Today's play concludes UA's fall schedule.

"We played well in spots this fall, but were never really able to get into a rhythm on court because of injuries," Akron head coach Brandon Padgett said. "We will spend ample time healing and working hard to be fully prepared for the difficult spring schedule that we have ahead of us."
