DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team notched two road victories on Saturday, taking down Dayton 5-2 in the afternoon and Wright State 6-1 at night.

Akron (3-5) swept doubles and Nos. 1-4 singles versus Dayton (4-7), then did the same in doubles and won at five of six singles positions against Wright State (3-3).

The Zips' No. 1 doubles team of Prang Pantusart and Angelina Jogasuria highlighted the day by improving its win streak to six matches with an 8-3 victory over UD's Carly Peck and Maureen Stevens, and an 8-2 decision against WSU's Kayla Tuscany and Alex Bastoch.

Pantusart and Jogasuria took both of their singles contests as well, alternating at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots in the lineup. Pantusart won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 against Dayton's Sammi Hornbarger, and 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 versus WSU's Bastoch. Jogasuria defeated Dayton's Peck 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, and WSU's Tuscany 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1.

"Angelina is playing at an excellent level in singles, and Angelina and Prang are solid in doubles," third-year Zips head coach Brandon Padgett said. "However, we have a lot of work to do and collectively we have to get a lot better."

Akron won eight of its 12 singles matches today in straight sets, and the three singles points it gave up were lost in three sets.

UA competes at home next weekend, playing host to East Tennessee State on Friday at 1 p.m. ET and nationally-ranked Oregon on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Both matches will be held at LaTuchie Tennis Center.
