ITA Women's National Doubles Rankings (Feb. 12)
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron doubles team of Prang Pantusart and Angelina Jogasuria is ranked No. 43 in the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's National Doubles Rankings, released on Tuesday night.
Pantusart and Jogasuria compete at the No. 1 position in UA's doubles lineup, and currently enjoy a six-match win streak that includes victories over two nationally ranked opponents.
"Ina and Prang have been playing at such a high level, and I could not be more proud of their ranking," third-year Akron head coach Brandon Padgett said. "We are going to see if we can carry this level of play through the entire season, with the goal of making the NCAA Tournament in doubles."
The Zips duo defeated the 26th-ranked Missouri team of Cierra Gaytan-Leach and Elisha Gabb 9-7 on Feb. 1, and topped the 45th-ranked Princeton pair of Lindsay Graff and Amanda Muliawan 8-7 (4) on Feb. 3. Last Saturday, they posted an 8-3 victory over Dayton's Carly Peck and Maureen Stevens, and an 8-2 decision against Wright State's Kayla Tuscany and Alex Bastoch.
UA competes at home this weekend, playing host to East Tennessee State on Friday at 1 p.m. ET and 69th-ranked Oregon on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Both matches will be held at LaTuchie Tennis Center.
