AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team rides back-to-back wins into a weekend homestand that features a meeting with East Tennessee State on Friday at 1 p.m. ET and nationally-ranked Oregon on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Both matches will be held at LaTuchie Tennis Center in nearby Stow (driving directions).

The Zips (3-5) posted a pair of road wins last Saturday, topping Dayton 5-2 in the afternoon and Wright State 6-1 at night. UA swept doubles and Nos. 1-4 singles versus UD, then did the same in doubles and won at five of six singles positions against WSU.

All five of UA's losses this season have been to nationally-ranked opponents – No. 50 Penn State (L, 5-2; Jan. 20), No. 4 USC (L, 4-0; Jan. 26), No. 55 Tulane (L, 4-1; Jan. 27), No. 52 Missouri (L, 4-3, Feb. 1) and No. 73 Princeton (L, 6-1).

Akron's doubles team of Prang Pantusart and Angelina Jogasuria (pictured right), which is 6-0 at the No. 1 position in the lineup this season, is listed 43rd in the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. The duo has wins over two nationally ranked pairs this season, defeating the 26th-ranked Missouri team of Cierra Gaytan-Leach and Elisha Gabb 9-7 on Feb. 1, and topping the 45th-ranked Princeton team of Lindsay Graff and Amanda Muliawan 8-7 (4) on Feb. 3.

East Tennessee State enters the weekend with a 2-0 record. The Buccaneers have a 4-1 victory over Middle Tennessee State and a 4-0 decision against Liberty to their credit thus far.

Oregon is ranked 69th in this week's ITA poll and maintains a 7-0 mark against dual-match opponents this season. Ducks' senior Patricia Skowronski is ranked 101st nationally in singles.

Friday will be the second all-time meeting between Akron and ETSU, with the Bucs claiming the first matchup 7-2 in March 1985. The Zips and Ducks will square off for the first time on Sunday.
