Next Olga Shkundina made short work of Marina Todd 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2, followed by another easy straight-sets win at No. 4 where Shannon Newnes downed Megan Govi 6-2, 6-2. Karolina Maksimava's 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1 over Dane Vorster secured match point.

The Zips' fifth point of the day came courtesy of a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (8) win by Caroline Harpaintner over Alexa McDonald at No. 6. PSU earned its second point at No. 3 where Sabina-Elena Preda got the best of Martina Zerbola, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5).
