Special Events

Special Events are critical to engaging current and prospective donors.  We maintain a calendar throughout the year to do so.  From Pre-Game Receptions to Golf Tournaments, special events are critical to the success of the Z-Fund.


Zips Football Summer Jamboree Golf Tournament

Come out and support Coach Terry Bowden and his staff as they begin their efforts toward building a championship program at The University of Akron.  The Annual Zips Football Summer Jamboree will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Quarry Golf Club in Canton, OH.

Zips Men's Basketball Summer Classic Golf Outing

Come out and celebrate another successful basketball season with Coach Keith Dambrot and his staff as they continue their efforts to establish themselves as the top Men's Basketball program in the MAC.  The Annual University of Akron Men's Basketball Summer Classic will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at Medina Country Club in Medina, OH.

Varsity "A" Member Tailgate

The Varsity "A" Association tailgate for all home football games at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field is located in the Zipsfest area in front of the Student Recreation and Well Center and on the Coleman Common.
 
The Varsity "A" tailgate opens three hours before kickoff.  Varsity "A" Members will receive a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, Shearer's chips, desert and beverage.  Guest of Varsity "A" members can receive the same meal for $6.00.

Student-Athlete Thank-a-Thon

Each November our student-athletes reach out to donors and season ticket holders to thank them for their generous contributions.  This teaches our student-athletes about gratitude and giving back, and our donors / fans love to hear from our athletes.
